Two names quickly spring to mind: PRO-CUT and ULTRA-CUT. But which one is the right one for YOUR production?
What at first glance looks like a simple product choice can quickly lead to a misjudgement. For example, the PRO-CUT is often hastily described as a ‘small ULTRA-CUT’. Whilst the comparison is obvious, if you look at the two machines side by side, it becomes clear that, although they share a similar design, both cut sheet metal and have a powerful laser cutting head, that is where the similarities end.
The crucial question is therefore not: Which machine is bigger?
But rather: Which machine is better suited to our processes, our material flow and the space we have available?
Because that is ultimately what it all comes down to: workshop layout, team, investment budget, production volumes and day-to-day efficiency.
PRO-CUT: compact fibre laser cutting system for sheet metal
At Schwartmanns, the PRO-CUT is clearly positioned as a compact and space-saving fibre laser solution for the cutting of flat or sheet metal. ULTRA-CUT: coil-based fibre laser solution for continuous material flow
The ULTRA-CUT is not simply the bigger version, as it is based on a different production philosophy. It processes sheet metal directly from coil, with sheet widths of up to 1,500 mm, and is aimed at prefabrication companies, larger fabricators and air duct manufacturers.
The focus here is on a continuous flow of materials to meet different volume and process requirements, rather than compact integration into smaller workshop set-ups. This is also evident in the space requirements: the ULTRA-CUT, for example, requires 465 × 298 cm of workshop floor space and is supplied in three separate parts.
The PRO-CUT stands for compact integration, a focus on SMEs, an easy transition and greater flexibility within existing workshop set-ups.
The ULTRA-CUT is designed for coil processing, continuous material flow and requirements that are more geared towards prefabrication, production volumes and end-to-end processes.
At the same time, the system architecture remains consistent. With the PRO-CUT, Schwartmanns uses the same operating and software logic as for the ULTRA-CUT and also offers a direct isoconnect connection.
It is therefore not a question of which machine is larger. What matters is which machine suits your requirements.
