In conversations at trade shows, in forums, and during customer visits, we hear the same question time and again: Which laser cutting system is right for our production?
Two names quickly come to mind: PRO-CUT and ULTRA-CUT. But which one is the right choice for YOUR production?
What looks like a simple product decision at first glance can quickly lead to a misjudgment. For example, the PRO-CUT is often hastily labeled a “small ULTRA-CUT.” While the comparison is obvious, if you look at the two machines side by side, it becomes clear that although both have a similar design, cut sheet metal, and feature a powerful laser cutting head, that is where the similarities end.
The crucial question is therefore not: Which machine is larger?
But rather: Which machine is a better fit for our processes, our material flow, and our available space?
Because that is ultimately what it all comes down to: workshop layout, team, budget, production volumes, and day-to-day efficiency.
PRO-CUT: Compact fiber laser cutting system for sheet metal
Schwartmanns clearly positions the PRO-CUT as a compact, space-saving fiber laser solution for cutting flat and sheet metal. It is designed for small and medium-sized businesses that want to integrate precise cutting processes into an existing workshop without having to set up a coil-based material flow.

The system processes sheet sizes up to 2000 × 1250 mm or 3000 × 1500 mm. Additional features include the isoconnect interface, Insulate Pro, a 21-inch control panel, and a relatively compact system design measuring 380 × 210 or 480 × 235 cm, plus an exhaust system and control panel.
For many workshops, this is precisely where the advantage lies. Faster programming and higher cutting speeds increase output per shift compared to manual cutting systems. At the same time, the PRO-CUT reduces manual intervention and ties up fewer staff members in individual work steps. This saves time and makes processes more predictable.
With integrated software and Schwartmann’s service commitment, the PRO-CUT becomes a true industry solution as an all-in-one system—without additional external tools or complex service structures.
ULTRA-CUT: Coil-based fiber laser solution for continuous material flow

The ULTRA-CUT isn’t just the bigger model; it operates on a different production principle. It processes sheet metal directly from the coil, with widths of up to 1,500 mm, and is designed for prefabricators, large-scale fabricators, and duct manufacturers.
Here, the focus is on a continuous material flow to accommodate different volume and process requirements, rather than compact integration into smaller workshop layouts. This is also evident in the space requirements: For example, the ULTRA-CUT requires 465 × 298 cm of workshop floor space and is delivered in three separate parts.
